If ice on outer casing then probably ice inside, can you remove the air filter? Your air filter is probably dirty and restricting airflow / condensing element clogged with dirty which makes ice build up. If you clean these things it make work for a couple of days then ice up again, due to internal things getting bent when first iced up. Cleaning the filter regularly is very important. If water does not drain away quickly and completely from the condensing element then there is the possiblity that ice will form, and once ice forms its a vicious circle. Your machine could be toast due to ice damage only cleaning filter and element will help to tell. If ice forms again within a few days then junk it.
