TS700 house alarm - BATT FLT and now no longer works?

Hi

My house alarm is a networker TS700. It suddenly started going off this afternoon and displayed the "BATT FLT" error. I entered the user code, tried to reset the alarm, and even removed the panel from the wall to double check if there is a battery. There is no battery. How do I get the alarm to work again?

alarm guy,why ask sd a complicated question like that??? :-)

SD, why would a NVM that holds information without power for 25 years need a code reset?
Got any fancy ideas about that?

This is not a £30.00 panel from Screwfix ( And no disrespect to them). It is one of the most used and reliable panels that used to be on the market, new rules and regs necessitated a change and yet the new M series has the same programming matrix, the same as the Scantronic range does.

Again you and your new associate show your ignorance by even commenting. Go back to whatever forums you frequent where you possibly know something.

OP go and buy a 12VDC 7AH SLA battery, just do a search for those numbers/letter and you will find a deal on the web. When its in, remove all power (Mains) and take off the cover, two screws. The lid will pull back and lift off. Replace the battery and put the code in , job done. Date a sticker and put it on the panel (The date you do this). In 5 yrs time do it all again. The panel will probably outlive you. Do regular walk tests and bell tests.

This panel is a thoroughbred like the scantronic, well the early versions 9100 etc, happy days,

Treat her nice and have it serviced regulary and in return it will look after you,

go with Alarms advice and get a pro in,ignore the others.... They not know or choose to know of the powers that be.

Be safe :)

You will have two batteries, possibly 3. 1 in main unit, 1 in external unit, 1 possibly in remote unit. It will be main unit at fault. Switch off mains supply, alarm will sound outside, normal, if it does not, battery in outside unit dead aswell. Open unit replace battery. Close up. switch on, probably need to reset all codes.

battery will be in the main alarm box housing not in a remote keypad

Quest, January 2013
has it got a battery in the bell box outside?

Quest, January 2013
so you removed the keypad not the panel.

you were lucky it was not the panel or you could be on the floor dead electrocuted now.

get a professional in before you kill yourself.
