no,you will have to replace the latch,common fault on hotpoint,a spring breaks so the latch wont set,do not stick anything into the latch as there is mains voltage present just go to your hotpoint dealer with the model number and he will order you the part,easy to replace,just remove the plug from the mains socket,undo the screws from the door assm,remove two screws from the latch unit,take note of the wiring,fit new latch and refit the wires,replace the door screws,easy !!
