Passat issue. Water coming out of overflow on water coolant tank?

Folks,

Have tracked excessive lose of coolant (1L/week) to the overflow pipe on the coolant tank. Any idea's on what can be causing the coolant to take this route ???. Should I plug overflow pipe to retain water ??

I have already changed the tank.

Much appreciated.

Pressure in the header tank usually comes from head gasket or water pump issues. You could try flushing rad and system and retrying.Don't block overflow or you will burst something with the pressure build up
