Should I fit a Ferroli Modena boiler?

I have a low mileage ferroli modena boiler available
Should I fit it to replace my ageing model or am I looking for trouble?

kEEP WELL AWAY FROM FERROLI BOILERS!!!! they are absolute rubbish. Mine is only 4 years old and has already broken down twice. Am currently awaiting a quote to have a diverter valve fitted!!!! it appears it is going to cost me around £200+..... apparently Worcester boilers are good.. but no consolation to me right now :( .......some may say my fault as I didn't get it serviced within a year so hence the 5 year guarantee is void but I say a boiler of this price should NOT have TWO major faults within 4 years. Mine is a Ferroli Combi..... never again!!

My ferroli Modena 102 is 4yrs old and has not had a service done on it ever. Now the pilot light keeps going out every 10 to 15 seconds and then coming back on. This could be due to not having it serviced or a design fault which shows itself after some time. Other users of this site have reported exactly the same problem. Regards Colin Gill

Speaking as an individual and only passing on my opinion , (Thats my disclaimer!) i currently own a Modena 80E which is only about 3 years old and i have had constant problems with it.
Every engineer i have contacted to fix it says " A Ferroli , Oh..."
I recently had the gas pump replaced at a cost of £200 which solved only one problem and the boiler still isn't running right.I have been quoted a price of around £200 for a circuit board to be fitted aswell , soon the repair costs will eclipse the cost of a new boiler...
I am currently doing all the overtime at work i can in order to get a new boiler fitted prior to Xmas.
I am sure some individuals have Ferroli's and have no problems with them but let's just say i will not be getting a Ferroli as a replacement.
