When your neighbour returns ask him to speak to your local council and request a register form,he can include info such as keyholders so in the event of another swinger or a break in a keyholder is contacted and access can be gained to his property.

I too understand your problem... But you should not have gone onto his property or taken it upon yourself to silence the sounder. Not only is this a criminal act you also put your self at risk.

In future Contact your council/envo health, some one will come out to the nuisance property and slap it with a notice. If they have no response within 30 mins they call in tradesmen who can enter the property and shut the system down.

As a rule they like to change the lock so you are forced to contact them for the keys and obviously pay all costs and possibly a fine.

On the other hand though your neighbour may thank you if you successfully silenced it because you spared him cost's and a possible fine.

You would wish I was not your neighbour if I came home and found you had done this.
Granted there may have been an error present but you call the noise prevention officer who then comes with the POLICE and a COURT WARRANT.

You have broken the law, invalidated insurance and probably caused bad future relations with your neighbour.

Get your wallet out or expect a visit to court yourself.

for that is what you have done to his ,you have neutralised his insurance cover hope you proud of yourself

i hope he sues you,you deserve it how would you feel if he vandalised your property ??

gts, January 2013
hope you are on good terms with the guy or you could be in soapy with him,you had no right to interfere with his system,if his home is broken in to,you are responsible,as acorn has said, you should have contacted cehd, not vandalise his alarm

I totally understand your problem, BUT, what you have done is only making the situation worse.

Your local Council Environmental Health Dept. is the correct way to go. Can't get into trouble that way.
