If you do a lot of town/short driving trips then this wouldn`t be a motor I would have bought,you could try and give the motor a long run,preferably up a motorway in a lower gear at high revs to get the exhaust really hot and see how you get on,if that fails then it may need a forced re generation which is when you will need to start worrying about costs
