how to remove the central dash to fit a stereo patch lead ?

i have fitted my sony stereo in my renault megane II it's a '53 plate 1.4 16v, it works, but every time the car is off, the stereo resets & i have to redo all my settings every time i start the car.
My megane is the card reader type.
So how do i remove the central dash to access the display (time/outside temp & audio display unit) so i can fit a sony patch lead to use the steering controls.
I am assuming that the stereo will save it's settings whence the patch lead is in place!!!
or maybe i'll just buy a haynes manual!!!! lol
or fork out for Halfords to do it!!!(£30)
Any help would be appreciated thanks

hi dave...yeah thanks. in the end i didnt need to remove the central dash!!! i simply was sold the wrong adaptor by HALFORDS (LOL)..eventually i came across the right wiring (connects2 from MILL AUTOS) & now i don't have to reset my stereo every time i use my motor (thankfully!!!) albeit the patch lead still does not allow me to use the steering controls but hey...i have 500gb hd of music so i am most pleased with my self & am rocking up the road.in the end i did buy a haynes manual as i have done with all my bikes & cars.very handy to have, saved me a shed load of folding over the years!!!
cheers for your response dave..it was amusing.

If I were you I would let Halfords do it for £30. If you don't already know, Renault electrics are a nightmare, and if you make a mistake it could cost several hundred pounds to fix. Be safe, let a professional do it, if they make a cockup of it, they should fix it, if you make a cockup, well, you have been warned.
