Hi, I changed the on/off button on my Hoover Tumble dryer and now I've no power. I have reconnected the cables as they were before as I'd taken a photo. There was a red cable and white cable connected to the heat button and 2 orange cables connected to the on/off switch. I have no power and don't know what to do. Any ideas anyone
that switch is not an on/off switch, its only a pulsing switch and is not supposed to stay in, the issue is with the small pcb near the timer which has a faulty relay and needs replacing

I suspect the new switch contacts are in different position assuming you are 100% sure you have connected it up the same (as your photo).Other thing is if you have connected it up wrong have you blown a fuse?.Multimeter continuity test of the live and neutral wires from the plug plus continuity of switch contacts is the way to go here

Well I'm not a domestic appliance person so I have no particular knowledge of this machine - but in your situation I would consider re-installing the original switch as a diagnostic aid - as in - are things the same or have they got worse? I would want to know if the switch were switching mains electricity or a control voltage - I would feel much more comfortable with a measuring device (mulimeter) - I would triple-check the connections - well-done the photograph!
You still have the option of a specialist engineer.
Good luck...

I had power before it was just the on/off switch wouldn't stay in.

Did you have power before?
If Yes then why did you change the power button?
If No then nothing has changed?
Your best approach is to get hold of some measuring equipment to trace the power - or better still call in a specialist engineer.
