Alarm box getting warm?

Just recently we have nticed our alarm mains control box getting warm and now the wall directly above it is marked presumably from the heat. The unit still functions ok but we were wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or if it is more serious than it seems.

But needs seeing to .
To ensure this is all it is.
A overcharged battery ect, can be a danger.

:-)

thank you acorn, the Transformer is the thing that reduces the mains voltage (thats the house supply of 240 volts) down to 17.5 or there abouts,its normal to get some heat marks on the wall ,just like you get heat marks on your ceiling if you have up lighters fitted, (thats lights that shine up the way ) :-)

trannie = transformer

its heat from the trannie is it in a hot cupboard ?or near central heating pipes ?

What make is it?
When was it last serviced?
Is the panel hot to the touch?

It is electrical and probably needs a service visit and a new battery, but only an expert in alarms can help. Even assistance on here is limited in this case.

It could be a fire risk.
Call someone out ASAP.
