Much will depend on which particular machine it is and your own practical skills.
On many models the visible spindle is just a cover for a metal shaft.
If you use Google and select Images and then enter Magimix Spindle Cover you'll get a better idea.
If you follow the links you may find that they suggest these pieces are fitted by an approved service agent.
