brake lights?

ive just bought a ford galaxy reg 2001 2.3 petrol
when i apply the brakes the front lights come on aswell , during the day they work , but when my lights are on at night my brake lights dont work ?

Some plonker has fitted single contact bulbs bridging the terminals on the rear lights.

agree with cdc, also make sure the correct type of bulbs are fitted to corresponding bulb holders-check handbook for bulb types. particular attention to stop/tail bulbs being fitted correct way round!

i would check your rear bulb holders for bad connections and bad earths,make sure stop/tail bulbs are fitted correctly
