where's the choke?

On this mower in the manual it says about the 'tortoise and hare' {choke} My question is....where the hell is the choke????

If the throttle lever only states slow and fast (tortoise/hare) then the cold start (choke setting) is not on the throttle lever, but is a seperate manual primer choke situated on the engine. It's normally a circular rubber buld, which you need to pump several times before starting the engine from dead cold.

Yes I'm old enough to remember cars and bikes with manual chokes and have no allusions about my mower having one.

Wine is a good idea - thanks - I will.

My mower started second pull last week after its winter hibernation!

The experts will probably tell you once you reveal the make & model.

My mower does not have a choke - well it probably does - I just see a lever that says Start - Slow - Fast - Stop.

Good luck...
