transit dual mass conversion wont engage?

when i replaced my dual mass with the single mass on my 2000 rwd transit the clutch will not "bite".

it just slips. as I am doing up the bell housing with a gap of about 5 to 10 mm i cant turn the drive shaft. but as i tighten the bell housing and the gap closes there is less and less friction on the drive shaft and i can start turning it. It seams the pressure plate is to far out and the release bearing engages Its driving me mad has this happened to any one else??

there is obviously a problem with your clutch/flywheel,did have one with faulty input shaft where the release bearing sits,a bit of debris was preventing bearing from disengaging resulting in no drive, but I don`t know on yours if the new flywheel needs a modified clutch to suit, there is no easy solution but to take out g/box again and double check distances/measurements against your old flywheel.
