How can I fix my scant tonic alarm 9651?

bell tamper and lid tamper log messages coming up in engineering even with the bell tamper linked out the fault still persists. Have checked spring on both bell cover and control lid. Both have good connections. Is there a problem with the main board or a more simple fix?

no prob dave,any time

That's great, will give that a go otherwise I'm going to change pcb. Really appreciate your time

Big Dave, April 2013
they make the 9651 in two versions the one i gave you is uk unit, but if you have done as you said,it sounds like it could be the pcb,but you could try one more thing,do a full reset on the panel, this some times works,as i said scanny panels are very reliable,we have used over a 1000 of them, and the 9651 is our stock panel
ob you will need to reprogramme it

Have applied 0v before

Cheers, my hardware control unit installation guide has pcb layout on page 10 for 9651. Not on page 13. Anti tamp top left, on this diagram. Will link out com a/t and apply 0v on tr on bell at pcb. Have already tried this. Think pcb is problem

Big Dave, April 2013
do you understand what i mean ?on the pcb top ;left hand side 4 terminals down ,link to 0v there are two 0v it not matter what one you use

hope this helps mate

gts, April 2013
page 13 top right hand side, four terminals down, link to bottom terminal 0v

Thanks, appreciate that if you can send link

Big Dave, April 2013
do you have the engineering manual
?if so get back to me now

gts, April 2013
cant tell you that mate.look at the engineering manual its all there we cant tell people how to defeat a tamper of any type on an open forum, for obvious reasons

gts, April 2013
How do I link out the tamper at the pcb. I am an electrician and have never had this problem with a scantronic before. Really appreciate the advice

Big Dave, April 2013
lid tamp is because you have removed the lid of the case ,you need to check the tamper circuit to and from the bell box,if you are certain the wiring is ok,and the tamper switches are ok,and the bell box is ok,you could do as a1 says, but this is only a test of the pcb,you cant leave the bell box without tamper protection,as your insurance comp will tell you,the panel you have is very reliable,so my money is on either the wiring to the bell box,or,the bell box itself

gts, April 2013
link out the bell tamper directly at the pcb
