Veritas 8----HELP?

My alarm does not work at all, sensors still light up but that's it. Was not happy with last engineer, called another engineer to fix but he was unable to do it (something with the programming) could the old engineer have locked his own code in? if yes what do I need to do to clear it from the system

a1 omnicrom not seen one of those for years, horible colour of casing and keypad,if mem serves they did a key version, the case was an odd shape too, they either packed up very fast,or lasted for ages, tempus fugit my friend !

No I don't like the Veritas Range To be honest I'm not to keen on the premier as they Indicate faults to often then that person has to call a certain number its stupid

We only fit Veritas panel's for the elderly Because I think fitting them a scantronic would be a little difficult even though they are good panels, We don't fit optima, crap like that, We recently got a call out about an alarm we fitted about 21 years ago was an old A1 omnicron According to to the woman its been stuck on 24 hr for the last 15 years little did she know she knocked the tamper spring off one of the Pir's !! but after testing the alarm it was in brill condition The bell needed upgrading as it was the standard l.e.d Flashguard but the red light on the sounder seem'd to off died ha ha, but the bell/strobe worked fine Very loud bell boxes,

Even though the flashguard activert Are quite back in the day I've been trying to buy one just to have a play with do klaxon not exist anymore?

i never said they gave him a faulty panel nick, read what i said,i do not like veritas panels,i have a an opinion, and i reseverve the right to state it,am not going to tell peolpe how good some thing is if i think its rubbish,i have tried veritas panels nick, was not overly impressed by them,we do bench tests on lots of panels, pir,s,bell boxes, you like veritas, brill, why did your grand mother not ask you first t ??for the record ,i dont like menvier either,to me they are very cheap looking,we do not fit cheap equipment nick,
we would rather lose the job than fit cheap tat,
and by the way,we still use those shock sensors they make now they have sorted the problem out,:-)

Yes but we are not talking about the problem's you have had at your company, Just because they have Give you faulty stock Doesn't mean this guy has got a faulty panel off them too, Veritas are easy panel's to reset press the tamper spring 3 times, Only the 1989 Veritas panel's can't be unset with the tamper spring

Maybe this guy has the 1989 panel you will never know, But PEOPLE don't have the money for new burglar alarm's especially scantronic I don't think there the best panel's but there Good

In 2001nMy grandmother was charged £500 For a crappy menvier Panel 3x Texecom Pet detector pir's, Oddysey bell box, They Left the old Wiring in The Quote she got at first was £700 Disgraceful,

Then I re fitted her A Veritas r8 because she's old, Something simple? There Crap panel's but for some homes they are Suitable

We had a bad batch of glx vipers but Honeywell more than compensated us for them, nice box of goodies :)

Teething problems mate, it's the same for all.

Agreed about the veritas though mate it's a sparks panel, enough said :)

veritas is trash i was given one of their "premium " panels for compensation when 9 of their shock sensors failed,on two of my sites,it lasted two weeks, they told me it was a software prob and promised to get back to me,they did not,so much for veritas,!i binned it and fitted a scanny 9651 no more probs,i lost £1000. because of the shock sensors, they gave me £1000 worth of gear including a box of 25 shock sensors, they ALL failled but the pirs, batts and bell boxes where ok ,what they did was remove the mech relay in shock sensors and fitted solid state unit, but made a balls of it i give them credit for compo though only other comp who does this is scantronic, because they unlike so many manufactures scantronic value their customers

gts, April 2013
not to her last two "engineers" nick,it seems :-)

gts, April 2013
I agree with the Guys, Scantronic are the best panel's, but in this case stick with the alarm that your used to unlocking the Veritas range is as easy as cleaning your shoe it's simple

Nick, April 2013
A locked veritas shouldn't be an issue for any engineer these days.

He simply factory default and reprog :)

If they say it's knackered then maybe you should accept that and upgrade to a good panel as mentioned by gts.

Scantronic are the best and there's a panel to suit everyones needs.

e manno, April 2013
two "engineers " in,and they cant fix it,? get someone in who knows what they are doing, failing that, fit a good panel like a scantronic
