how do i get gearbox out of park?

renault clio 1400 16valve 53plate automatic gearbox stuck in park , how do i get it out of park to tow it to a garage?

Ignition on foot on brake is normal. If the battery is flat, pop the cover off around the shifter and there should be a button to depress. Check that the selector cable hasn't popped off the lever (on top of box) as if the switch is not on 'p' it will not start or be able to move lever. Probably best to check this first.
