Veritas 8 >Unset light flashing constantly?

The unset light flashes constantly & I cannot arm the system. Is this likely to be a battery problem? I've seen several comments here sugesting battery change ,but where is the battery located?Inside the key pad ? (Door chime on exit & entry not working either) Any suggestions ?

He making me jealous if I were twenty years younger I'd do it all again,Not!, so miss the winter months on rapid or in my case not so rapid response.:D.

It always interfered with my me time drinking time,

Funny that every time me had a few the pager or the phone would ring....pain in the arse and of course you can't get away with driving and greeting a customer with a wobble on nowadays.

Guy called Harry who worked for envo health was always more pissed than me when I met him on site.

Good old days :)

Veritas 8 control panel with built in keypad and display?,

Does that sound like yours?,

In all cases regarding the veritas though the battery is located inside the control panel or blank endstation for the R8s and compacts.

The flashing Unset led in most cases is a good indication that the battery has failed and needs replacing.you will have to rechime the zone again when the battery has been replaced because that bit of programming will be lost(easy to do).

So in short you need a new control backup battery.

Please be aware of the mains voltages within the control panel and mains must be isolated before you remove the lid from the panel, very important for your own safety if you are going to attempt this yourself.

Be safe and if you need more help then come back on here to us.
