The screws for the latch go in to an oblong piece of steel which just sits on top of the cabinet. It is not secured in any way. Another stupid F&P design. It should of been glued or tack welded in place but never was. To replace the latch you need to remove only one screw, rotate the latch out of the way on the remaining screw. Fit the new latch & secure it tight then remove the last screw on the old one, rotate the new one in to position and replace the screw. By taking both screws out at the same time the securing piece with the screw holes has now moved away from the holes. You now have to remove the outer cabinet to get at the securing piece and put it back in place.
