i crashed my cavalier and have had to replace the drive shaft but the drive shaft wont locate whats the best way to fit it? on a 1995 m reg 1.6 envoy

There is a C clip on the end of shaft, if the gap is at the top when you insert it in the gearbox the clip hangs lower, make sure the clip isnt streched open too far and have the gap at the bottom so its sits more central on the shaft, it may require a light tap but not too hard.
