can you tell me how to deactivate the immoboliser as the battery on the keyfob is new but still doesnt work when pressing to lock/unlock the car so i have to unlock/lock with the key itself. once ive done this i cant get the engine to start as the immoboliser sound comes on and the engine is immobolised.. to cap this off i have NO 4 digit (or what ever it is code!!) HELP!!!

what you need to do is arm the car by locking it....then when armed,unlock the car dont open the door and press the dimpled button 3 times in less than 3 seconds..rover immobalisers are a pain for that,and when you remove the battery the immobaliser loses the keys memory..its the key that turns off the immobaliser not the fob..but by doing that what i have said it will add the key to the memory again..

The new keyfob will have to be programmed to the car, my local auto electicians did mine for £60 and gave me a new code
