power failure on rover 25?

i have rover 25, when driving the car it loses power and i have to pull over and wait until engine picks up or turn it off, had it in garage and they cant find the problem

Fuel starvation? Is vent to petrol tank blocked so that a vacuum builds up. If so poke a stiff wire up the breather vent hose to clear the muck out of it.
