hi i have a home security alarm its only 3 year old has always worked fine but today i was unable to turn it off and so it was singing for a while and i had to disconnect the back up battery to silence the alarm what could be the problem and how do i fix it please it is model veritas sc

You call it what you want mate, we all know it's that wired thing that makes a lot of noise and vexes the neighbours when it sings. :)

A lack of hold off makes me sing too especially when I've had a few,good job my nearest neighbour is totally tone deaf.

You know the facility it has that tells you the last few events in its memory. Easily deciphered with the user manual that comes with it.

Rather brave of you to delve into a mains fed appliance and remove the back up power. I "ASSUME" you had isolated the mains and checked this before opening the panel?

I digress, you could be a nuclear power plant operator ( laughs a lot here, as some cannot wire a plug top, as I know !!!), and know your onions.
What has happened to cause this?
A power cut?
Works in progress? So a cut cable, possibly to a battery backed up warning device ( Sorry lads have dumbed down from EWD/HUD ect for ease of answer ( like we get answers LOL)).

As you`re obviously able to work with electrical items this should be easy enough.
