everything looks ok , as soon as the car started in reverse , i put the clutch down , then woow no forward or revers gears , if the engine is running i can just push gear stick in to any gears , the same as if the engine was off. linkage ok , fluieds ok , as if clutch plate stuck? so if the gearbox driveshaft has gone , will my speedo register a speed .thanks for all help

no sure what you mean? if i jake the car up , put in gear take foot of clutch and look at speedo , see if moveing , is that what you mean , sorry if sound un sure

driveshaft may be detached from diff.is there any oil leaking from diff seals? if speedo is driven from g/box,does it work when in gear with clutch out?

also , if engine running , put in 1,2,3,4,5, then if yo put in reverse , take foot of clutch , makes a sound as if its trying to get in gear , maybe sort of crunching ?

i can put in gear from the engine bay , then i check in car and gearstich has moved , clutch feels ok but car dont move.

look at the gear linkage at the bulkhead just above the diff. for a plastic rod with two ball joints,usually the n/s joint pops off.You can just push it back on but may be worn and come off again and probably needs a new linkage.
