Fisher and Paykel machine won't stop filling, or drain properly?

My fisher and paykel has two problems. One - it occasionally won't stop filling, even when I turn the machine off at the wall! Two - it is having trouble draining, it goes in stops and starts, with the starts getting shorter and shorter until it freezes. I have checked the drain, and it is clear. Any ideas? It is about 11 years old.

Except that it is not a magnetic type pump. It has a winding and an armature. The water fill problem will definitely be a sticking inlet valve. Replace it will fix that problem. You need to take the drain pump out and check for any obstruction on the pump or up inside the hole where the pump sits. Something may be slowing it down or catching on it & stopping it. Make sure it will spin easily by hand before you put it back. If it still won't run properly it may be a power supply problem with the control board. You will have to get someone out to test that for you.

the filling problem is down to a faulty water solenoid valve which needs replacing, the pump, if you are sure there is nothing restricting the impellar from turning it also needs replacing as magnetic type pumps behave like this when worn
