Can not use my new micro sd card?

i have bought a micro sandisk utra 16gb memory card and is not recognized in my new samsung smart camera or my samsung galaxy note tablet. i have tried to format it on the computer and says can not be completed??

UPDATE

There are 3 kinds of SD cards : SD, SD-HC and SD-XC
Plain SD can be used in any devices. They have a maximum capacity of 16 Gb. They are also the slowest
SD-HC can only be used in devices made for the HC or XC variety.
SD-XC can ONLY be used in devices made for that model. They have the largest possible capacity and are also the fastest.

If it don't work in 2 devices and can't be formated by your computer, it means that it's defective.
You can try formating it with another computer, just to be shure.

Your card have a waranty covering that kind of deffect. The waranty don't cover any loss of data, but state that it covers replacement of a defective or faulty card.
Return it to the store where you bought it to get a replacement.
