I have got a Digihome twin recorder that has given up the ghost. I took the hardrive out and used as an external drive on my PC but it was unable to read it. Can anyone tell me what software is used on the digihome recorder so I can abstract some program's?

Is it as simple as it being a linux variant of some sort. In other words the drive is format as ext2 or ext3 instead of Fat32 or NTFS. Try booting your PC with a live linux usb key. It may then be able to see the drive.
