there is no water coming into my close coupled toilet cistern!! what do i do??i have removed all the parts just leaving the stem that comes from the base of the cistern- still no water flow!!!

sounds like the inlet valve has stuck in closed position. Turn off the water feed to the cistern remove the inlet valve and fit new one, or clean up replace the washer on the old one.
Of course the other scenario is someone in the property has closed off the stop valve on pipe that feeds the cistern and hasn't turned it back on. Yes its happened.
