wipers on 1999 scenic work but dont park??

the wipers on my 1999 scenic work but park 8 to 10 inches up the screen.When i 1st put them on they go right down first before sweeping the screen.everything else works with them .Have tried re positioning them on the linkage spindle but didnt work.has anyone got any ideas please ?
