Hoover 5050ED intermittent heating problem?

Can anyone suggest the most likely cause? My Hoover 5050ED Dryer will on some occasions blow heated air as normal and then on other occasions will not heat the air at all. I'm guessing that it is a thermostat problem but because there are more than one, where do I start? Or could it be another component causing the problem? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Thanks for your answer. I don't really have the equipment or experience to diagnose the problem. Thought someone might have had a similar problem and discovered that it was something simple. I have a wife that thinks I am a genius when I change a light bulb. She has high expectations and I was hoping for a simple solution. lol. Thanks again. I'll get it checked out.

Could be the heater element, could be a bad connection, could be an intermittent fault on the circuit board. You could keep on guessing and maybe one day strike it lucky and find the fault. You don't say if you own a test meter and have some basic fault finding knowledge. Without them you would be better off giving it over to someone who can test it and find the fault quicker.
