How can I fix my Zanussi Washing Machine ZWF1640W?

The control board blew up and the door lock burnt out.
I bought a new configured control board and a new door lock.

The machine still does not work. Could it be the display board, which is displaying 777, and when you turn the control knob, it is displaying other missing numbers/letters which do not make any sense at all?

they talk to each other and if the info is wrong they lock up and stop machine working for safety

Yes I did connect the two blue cables, one from the selector knob and the other from the main control pcb, properly.
How does the display pcb stop everything from working?

only thing it can be is the display assuming you connected pcb up correctly.the blue lead to the display got connected to the correct connection didn't it??
