iSOLATE c & k st800L?

I bought my house 3 years ago, no code (previous owner sadly died) Alarm has stayed silent until power cut yesterday!! I am renting house shortly want to either isolate alarm or get code. I removed battery - tamper alarm sounded, in desparation entered 1234# and alarm stopped. Have removed battery (11 years old!) replaced cover and reentered code and tamper light cancelled.

Followed instructions for new code and it has excepted, no lights on. Do I need to buy a new battery and replace and if all lights are out does this mean the system has excepted the new code? Will it sound again if power cut occurs? Many thanks for any help

Hi paul sorry for the delay.

I don't find you stupid and certainly not for expressing an interest in equipment that like you and many other users don't understand.

Firstly the sounder has it's own battery known as a SAB.

Changing the 1st or 2nd user code method and acceptance of the new isn't what you have described in your post, what you have done is simply reset the panel with the factory default code.

you can't enter into programming with the user code, for that you need the engineering code.

Just let it ring whilst you change the battery then refer to the user manual and change the code.Test the system, full part sets.

Try the factory default engineerin code.

See if you can get into engineering with it,if you can then check the programming then change the engineering code as well.

You could try all this yourself but I'd suggest you search the net for the book and read it or you could call a pro in .

Ps if you simply want to shut the system down until you get around to sorting it,then isolate mains &battery, then let the sounder sound until it's battery dies.

Many thanks. Probably being a bit stupid hear but how does the unit get power (to sound alarm) with no mains or battery?
Also, does the fact that when I entered a new code and the lights and sounder went out does this mean the new code was excepted and can I use it to reprogram? How do I isolate the main, when I do the alarm goes off.

I really appreciate the help, the company number on the sounder guys are not returning my calls

Buy a new battery for it.

See Paul, the battery takes over and runs the system if there's a mains power interruption, and also the panel needs a healthy battery for entering programming, changing codes etc.

The fact that you have to enter the factory user code also suggests a reprog.

It may suit your requirements for the panel to run on defaults but you should test it and make amendments in programming if needed.

Remember to isolate mains power to the panel before you go in and change the battery.

Be safe :)
