How do you fix a Parasol onto a Banana Cantiliever Parasol?

We have just erected the stand and parasol but the parasol is only joined by the cord that runs through the tube to the cantilever handle. There are holes at the top where the parasol fits into the tube but I have no other fixings. Surely the cord alone is not sufficient and it does seem to wobble. Help please.
