Is my Bernina 730 Record Sewing Machine repairable?

A repairman told me that the belt slips on my Bernina 730 Record Sewing Machine, and it cannot be repaired. Otherwise, it is in very good condition. Does this sound correct, or is it possibe to replace the belt? I love this machine. Thanks.

Of course it can be repaired, unusual for the belt to slip because it is a toothed nylon belt unless the teeth have worn down, I would suggest ebay to begin with failing that find Bernina suppliers out of the area
