I've read other peoples problems with the drivers door lock and some good answers however my drivers door is locked and can not be opened either from inside or outside so I cant take off the panel to get into the lock itself - any ideas or suggestions would be great - thanks

You will not be able to completely remove the panel - to get it off - screws at the very bottom (look at passenger door) need to be removed so that the panel can be lifted away from the door and eased upwards from the hidden clips that hold it at the top.

What to do?

Call out a mobile car-locksmith and ask him to release the mechanism - he will use a little air wedge bag and a puffer to create a gap and then fish down into the interior and unlatch the lock with hooked rods.
