does turning down the whole house water pressuresave on water usage?

does turning down the water pressure that feeds water into the whole house cut down on water usage? What are the negative consequences to appliance etc if you do this? My supposedely better half has decided to turn down the water pressure saying it will reduce water bill costs etc. but now I notice the dishes in the dishwasher are not getting cleaned and other issues.

The pressure has nothing to do with the amount you use,you won't save anything it will only take longer to fill things. If you have a combi boiler it might be trying to heat up water that isn't coming through enough.
