peogeot 807 cam belt?

hi had my car stood for two weeks then gone to start it and it will not start sounds like there is no compression there it just truns over its only done 88000 miles so not ready for cam belt yet has any one had this befor

hi its a diesel and is an 04 reg have just had a lok the belt is still in one pice and it all turns over just need to check that it is still timed up as i can not see the camshaft marks it means i have got to strip the rest out

Who says it is not overdue for a new cam belt? How old is the car? What sort of use has it had? Is it petrol or diesel?
