half way through mowing my lawn the mower just stopped working, have checked the fuse and power to the mower no problem.

Some mowers will cut out for a while if they overheat. When they cool down again they work again. Hope that's the case with yours. You don't say which make and model yours is.

There is a problem

Either the motor is defective - or the control switch is not working properly or there's a break (open circuit) somewhere in the wiring.

Somebody needs to carefully examine the machine. And remember to check the neutral return path.

It would be good to have some basic test equipment.
