First check the batteries have been inserted the right way around.
Three things
in you car owner manual it may tell you how to reset your key after changing the batteries.
Ask the manufacturer of the vehicle if the remote key needs resetting after changing batteries if so how?
At your risk
you could try this from my Peugeot Partner Escapade book.
turn off ignition.
switch on ignition again (don't start car)
immediately press the 'lock' button.
switch off ignition remove the key this should/may have sent message to management so it recognizes the key each time its used.
.
It starts so it seems to me the management system is not recognising the signal from the remote to lock and unlock.
