How can I fix my Fisher and Paykel FabricSmart washing machine - Error 112?

Hi,

My washing machine takes in a little bit of water and then stops. After this the machine keeps on beeping and reads that it needs service and quotes error 112. The manual says nothing about any error 112. So am totally lost as what to do. I have tried switching it off and then back on after sometime and removing and lessening the load.I don't anticipate its something major as the machine has been hardly used.

Error 112 means that the control board has sensed that the motor is drawing too much current (power) It is usually a fault in the control module and it is giving a false reading. Usually means a new computer board has to be fitted. Best to get a service company out to double check and test the motor first.
