back passenger seat footwell carpet wet when it rains any ideas??

nope not door seals steve, have washed the car a few times now , carpet seems to get wet after a few days of rain , ive taken out bungs from underneath to help water drain out but not made much difference, when carpet does dry out it takes a day or to of heavy rain to saturate it, tried hosepipe over roof and sitting in car but nothings getting wet on inside just that bit of carpet

hi Suzanne,the rain could be coming in through perished door rubbers,if you get chance wash the car by hand or car wash and check after washing by opening the door and see if there is any trickles of water down the interior plastics or etc,i had a golf what really flooded in the rear footwell when it rained hard,i`d noticed on it a trickle of water from the door rubber down the interior plastic
