Radius arm play - Are axle problems to be expected?

Hi, I hope someone can help.

I have a Peugeot 206 1.9D and have been told by 2 mechanics that the radius arm has play in it (the bushes are worn).

Before I go ahead and spend a small fortune on getting a new radius arm fitted I'd like to know if there's a way of telling if there's damage to the axle due to the radius arm problem.

Thank you.

If the bushes are gone get them replaced,I've done the job twice myself on Fiestas,it's a job if you dont know how to do it and dont have the tools anyway let the garage do it,it is a stock job, get a price of another garage first .They take loads of stick and are designed to go before any serious damage occurs, they fail because of the amount of work they do,your drive and suspention dont work well when they are dodgy and it will also cause uneven tyre wear(they cost dosh) it is also an MOT failure anyway and it will be as cheap to replace the arm as it is to incur labour costs to replace the bushes, and if you only get one side done the other side will fail next week, they are the same age.Shop around first and tell them what you require(Radius arm replacements).Good luck and happy shopping.
