Sounds like the anti-flood device (float switch) has been activated. Disconnect the dishwasher from the electric supply. Tipping the dishwasher will empty the excess water that has triggered the switch, but lay a towel on the floor. It will also dry out if left...I recently removed the filters, gently pushed some kitchen roll down to the base of the chamber, followed by a tea towel. As the tea towel became wet/damp I replaced it until on connecting to the electric supply, the pump had ceased to operate.
I'm thinking of going to B&Q and purchasing the silica gel crystals used in their dehumidifiers for use in the future.
