Broken Bosch oven light lense?

during cooking the light lense shattered dropping glass onto food and the base of the oven. What is left is a jagged ring of glass which I need to remove to fit a replacement. I have ordered the bosch tool for screwing in and removing lenses but I don't think there is enough glass left for that to work. I have tried vinegar etc with no luck. I am now considered smashing the remaining glass with a centre punch and hammer and hope that the threaded section breaks. to do this I would like to remove the roof of the oven. Does anyone know how to remove it?

Thanks Kenjo - I'll remember that next time. I managed to remove the remaining glass ring with a sharp chisel and a hammer to fracture the glass after which it came out quite easily.

Roof of oven cannot be removed, if you cannot get the glass out replace the complete light fitting. it is held in place by spring steel lugs on the fitting that locate when you push the fitting in the hole. if you cannot prize out the fitting, remove oven, back off, reach in and release the lugs. Isolate from power before any of the above work! Cheers

I tried pliers but the glass breaks away so there is even less to grip

turn it off.use pliers to grip and undo the remaining threaded glass
