how to align the timing marks on a 96 1.8l dohc ford escort?

I recently replaced my water pump and had to remove the cam gears and timing belt. I marked the cams with nail polish before removing them and never moved the crank. I put everything back together and re aligned my marks but now my car wont start. can you tell me how to align my crank and cam gears correctly?

behind the alternator on the engine block is a blanking plug,a timing pin for the crankshaft screws in there to time the crank and your two pins in the cam and pump gears, you may have to borrow the pins if you can,you may get away with a couple of drills for the cam and pump but the crank pin is a different matter
