solid savings ads?

how can i stop ads from solid savings appearing on every web page
dave, October 2013
Install Firefox, Chrome or Opera. All free and WAY beter than internet explorer.

Install the Adblock addon. (not sure if available for Opera)

Say good ridance to all those advertisements, even those in flash games and videos. Not only those frome solid savings...

Another option:
Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc
Open the "hosts" file in notepad. (an extentionless text file)
Enter:

127.0.0.1 doubleclick.net
127.0.0.1 doubleclick.com
127.0.0.1 www.solidsavings.com
(hover the mouse over the add to get the domain's URL to get the effective address)

One per line.
Save.
doubleclick is a huge add brooker. Bloking it will kill LOTS of adds.

This will redirect the site to your local loop back, preventing the add from getting loaded. In fact, it will prevent ANY and ALL comunication with the listed sites.

If you have a router, enter it's configuration.
Navigate around untill you find the place where you can set web filtering rules.
Add a web filtering rule to block all trafic to the offending site. This will replace the content of the listed sites with a "504 Blocked by administrator" message.
