what is the problem with my fridgefreezer?

The fridge part of my fridge freezer isn't cool but the freezer is really frozen - it is meant to be auto defrost but everything is frozen solid. The fridge is warm! Fan on when door closed but stops when door is opened. it clicks and clanks at times!
