citadel xr2+ tamper mode?

I have a citadel xr2+ and am wanting to put it into tamper mode so that I can fit a new sensor without the alarm sounding continuously whilst I do this. Any idea? I've read the manual but cant seem to find the answer. I know its possible because an engineer has done this previously when fitting sensors in my garage.
Thanks

Hi
It's me again! I have a new problem now and I was wondering if you could help seen as you did last time.
When I set my alarm, the pir sensors in the rooms do pick you up so I know they are working. However, once the alarm has set, if I walk into a room the alarm does not go off until about 1hr 15 min later!! When it does eventually set off, it turns straight off when I key in my code and does show the correct room that I did go in earlier. The tamper light shows on the keyboard though. Any ideas!

Gts - I appreciate your help and do thank you very much for that. I was a little taken aback though when only a few hours after I posted my question I got accused of wasting time and not having any manners. Surely you must understand that and would feel the same as I did had it been the other way around. For you also to keep going on about it after you know I am genuine too is not nice.
It wasn't that I didn't have the manners to reply, I just didn't expect an answer so quickly so only noticed the answer when I checked a COUPLE of hours later.
This site is good, and you know your stuff which is great but if you keep presuming everyone is not genuine and being very 'unkind' with your words then you might as well shut the site down seen as the 'genuine' people are not trusted.
I did nothing wrong and do not expect to be spoke to that way, that's all I'm saying.
That aside, I do thank you for your help.

E manno - thanks for your help, it was appreciated

Tamper light lit means you have accessed engineering.

All the best, but remember don't short any wire's,remove and replace one wire at a time.the terminals will be clearly marked on new beam.

If for some reason you do get a tamper alert when you remove the beams cover, then simply go to your keypad and enter your user code.

That will silence the alert then carry on with your replacement.

Hi

I've tried pressing prog and then entering 9999 and I think it works. The alarm did sound but then I put in my code to stop it and it seems that I am now able to work it. I just have one light lit up next to 'tamper'. Hopefully that's it now, thanks for your help.

No probs Alex.

For you to enter into a conversation on here with gts and I means you are genuine.

We think that most posts lately are of the none genuine type, hence our replies.

Good luck and feel free to ask us any more advice regarding your system.

I will have I try it tomorrow now as its not possible to do it at the moment. Thanks very much. I will post tomorrow to let you know how I got on :)

Alex, October 2013
Ok that's great, thank you very much for your time. I will try that and hopefully it will work :)

9999 is the default engineering code.

If I don't work then ask the engineer who last had contact with your alarm for the engineering code which he will of changed to one of his own.

The engineering code will put the panel into engineering which in turn will cancel out the series tamper circuit allowing you to remove said pir without setting off a tamper alert.

When you wish to exit engineering mode then press (RESET)and the system will return to day mode.

Don't allow any of the wiring cores to touch each other or you stand a good chance of blowing the AUX fuse within the panel.

At the keypad press (PROG) then enter 9999.
Tell me what happens.

I know you are serious and so am I!! When did I say it was a trick question. I only posted the question this afternoon! I'm sorry for not knowing that I had to wait for an immediate answer! I presumed it was a forum! Maybe I shall not ask for help in the future, it seems if you do, you get your head bitten off! The sad thing is, I really did appreciate your help :(

Alex, October 2013
It's not a trick question.
I'm serious : you knowing the engineering code will help me to help you and instruct you how to.

Gts is right though, being ignored when offering help is most irritating.

There's an add answer form below to enter additional information .

Gts - I apologise that I do not sit by my computer in order to reply to people within seconds of them helping me out but I do have other things to occupy me in my life! You obviously don't if all you can do is be nasty to people and not offer help whatsoever. That's obviously what stimulates your mind!

E manno - I do appreciate your answer. I do not have a engineering code. Would I have ever had this? In a book or anything?
Thanks

Alex, October 2013
