Hi,
Batteries either work or they don't and a battery can fail literally overnight. If this is the original battery for an 08 bike then it may well be on the way out.
You can try charging the battery and then start the bike and do a charging check of the battery.
If you aren't confident with doing these checks yourself try to get a mate to do it for you.
Look up the process on google.
