engine oil?

Can any one advice me how often should I change engine oil I only do 4000 miles a year. Nissan micra k12 989 cc

I agree with cdc, new oil (and filter) is cheaper than a new engine. Your Micra has a cam chain that should cause no trouble if you change the oil annually. If you don't it may stretch or snap, and that will be very expensive to repair.

False economy, change it at least once a year regardless of mileage, some motors are on 20k servicing or every 2 years,in my opinion stacking up problems for later on,I do about 6k-8k mls a year and change oil twice a year and I don`t care what anyone says.

normally its 10 to 12,000 miles is the normal. i would suggest you have it done every 2 years, but even 3 years would be fine if you are only driving 4000 miles a year.
